Weight loss is an important issue for both men and women. It is also one of the most serious health threats facing our society today. Other causes for unintentional weight loss include, however are not limited to, viral infections, cancer, gastrointestinal infection (including CMV or HIV), gastroenteritis, depression, diarrhea, and other bowel diseases. When one or more of these causes for the unintentional loss of weight are present, medical evaluation should be sought and treatment attempted. Untreated illnesses such as viral infections, cancer or gastrointestinal infections can lead to severe complications. Therefore, when intentional weight loss is caused by one or more of the above-mentioned illnesses, medical evaluation should be sought and treatment attempted.
Ingestion of food that has been processed is one of the main causes for unintentional weight loss. Unintentional weight loss includes the sudden cutting of caloric intake for one reason or another. Many of us have given in to this vice at one time or another by eating the wrong foods that contribute to gaining unwanted weight.
